Dr. Lim started dentalCARE @ tanglin in 1987 on returning to Singapore after lecturing at the School of Dentistry, University of Otago, New Zealand, and a short stint in private practice and hospital practice in London. He obtained his Masters in Conservative Dentistry from Eastman Dental Hospital, University of London, in 1983. Conservative Dentistry comprises root canal treatment, and restoring teeth with fillings, crowns and bridges. Dr Lim’s specialty is endodontics (root canal treatment).
Dr. Lim continues his link with academia and is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore, teaching Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics to the undergraduates and Endodontics in the graduate program. He still continues involvement in research.
Dr. Lim is active in his profession, and has served as President of the Singapore Dental Association (1990-93), Society of Endodontists Singapore (2000-03, 2007-2009) and the Asian Pacific Endodontic Confederation (2005-2007). He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore; the International College of Dentists; the Pierre Fauchard Academy; and the International College of Continuing Dental Education. He also served on the Singapore Dental Council(2000-2003). In 2002 he was elected a Member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons (UK). Dr Lim has served on the Dental Specialty Accreditation Committee for Endodontics from 2017-2023.
Dr Lim joined Twin City Endodontics in Jan 2023 after the en bloc sale of Tanglin Shopping Centre.
